Economy 10 - What is it?

Economy 10 is an alternative electricity tariff, and is a mixed daytime tariff deisgned for electric heating systems by Scottish & Southern Energy.  If you are familiar with Ecomony 7 then you will know that it is a night time tariff deisgned for night storage heaters.

Please Note.  This tariff can only be obtained by calling the No below.  Do not try to call Powergen, Npower, or your local supplier as they will not know what you are talking about!

This is a fairly new tariff that was created in 2004, and is used to promote the lower cost daytime use of electrical appliances.

Scottish & Southern Energy are negotiating with all other Regional Electricity Distribution Areas for Economy 10 to be available in the near future.

Suitable for use with all Heat and Cool electric boilers, and electric radiator systems. 

Scottish & Southern Energy can offer you -

  • Nominated Key Account Managers who will provide clear procedural guidance to Project Engineers, Site Managers and  Sales Staff by way of briefings and laminated notices.
  • Centralised New Connections Bureau based in Cardiff who as a "One Stop Shop" will:
    • Ensure that all properties are promptly registered on supply with Scottish and Southern
    • Arrange the installation of meters with Regional Electricity Distribution Companies
    • Process Change of Tenancy Forms transferring billing details from Property Developer to New Tenant
    • Issue Welcome Packs to the New Tenants immediately upon occupation
  • Simple and speedy procedure for new commercial and domestic meter connections and supplies
  • Economy 10 tariff which has been established specifically with all-electric domestic electric and water heating "wet" systems in mind
  • Provision of reduced cost domestic appliances for possible installation into your Developments or as special offers to the Management and Staff of your company
